A NON-LASER METHOD TO REVERSE
PERMANENT MAKEUP AND TATTOOS
Techniques for
tattoo removal have been under investigation for many
years. Disadvantages of the early methods such as sul-abrasion,
surgical excision and infrared coagulation included
unpleasant scarring. Recent studies are concentrating on
various laser treatments such as the pulsed carbon dioxide
laser, Photoderm PL laser, Alexandrite laser, and Q-switched
Nd:YAG laser. The incomplete removal of certain tattoo
colors, scarring, or skin textural change and skin
hypopigmentation are possible side effects associated with
laser treatments. This paper reports on an alternative
non-laser approach which has been developed to remove
tattoos with minimum side effects, and may provide a new
dimension for tattoo removal and removal of permanent
makeup.

Two-part series of articles on the history and
treatment of tattoos.
Part 1 - History: The first part has a rather
complete history of tattoos and their early treatments
for removal. To link to this article :

Part 2 - Treatment: A short but complete document on
the use of lasers for tattoo removal can
also be accessed. We own and have on premises at all times
the 1064 Q-Switch YAG
and Q-Switch Ruby lasers. These lasers allow us to treat
with specificity all colors of
tattoo pigment. Since there is a lack of good information on
tattoo removal on the
internet, you may wish to review this
